Understanding reborn doll sizes and measurements

Compare the measurement method, body proportions and stated weight before choosing clothes or planning a display space.

Find out what the number means

A length in centimetres is useful only when you understand how it was measured. Ask whether the listing refers to an approximate straightened length or the doll’s usual posed position. Bent legs, a turned head and the camera angle can change how large a doll appears. Convert units carefully and keep the original measurement in your notes so a rounded conversion does not become a new specification.

Choose clothing by measurements

A clothing label such as newborn is a starting point, not a promise of fit. Compare garment measurements with the doll’s chest, waist and limb lengths when those details are available. Consider whether hands, feet or a fixed pose make openings difficult to pass over. Before buying extra clothes, confirm which outfit is included and whether it can be removed without disturbing hair or decorative details.

Plan for handling and display

Check the listed weight separately from length: one measurement cannot stand in for the other. Measure the intended shelf, basket or display area and allow room for the pose. For a gift, consider the recipient’s comfortable handling preferences. If a dimension is missing, send the model identifier and the measurements you need through a CATDOLL inquiry instead of estimating them from photographs.
